City officials rescinded the new policy that would allow non-Park residents to use the Okulski theater for a $50 yearly fee. This was in response to strong objections from residents who had not been notified of the change until they read it in the Grosse Pointe News.
The consensus among residents was to try marketing the theater to Grosse Pointe Park residents if you need to boost revenues. There are many no-cost ways of doing this. Residents were creative and generous in sharing their ideas with the theater manager. I hope the city will take me up on my offer to volunteer and assist with the marketing effort.
